The Dream Has Come True

You might assume that I mean MLK's dream. You'd be partly correct.

But I mean the dream of all those people who voted for Al Gore in 2000 and then were given Bush as president. For all those people who disapproved of the way Bush has handled and led the country for the past 8 years. For those victims of 9/11.

Today we finally get rid of what could possibly be the worst president in the history of our country.

Today we get a President that cares about the country we live in. That wants to help and has better ideas and plans as to how to move the United States in the direction it must move in order for us to continue being the country everyone wants to move to. Continue being the country that was founded so many years ago. A president that will turn the country around, even if it first gets worse and then better.

A president that knows how to talk and read and LEAD this country.

Today? Today our dream and hopes come true.

Barack Obama is about to become president and I am so happy.

I wish I could stay home to watch the inauguration, but unfortunately that's impossible - but now I realize WHY the teacher I'm subbing for today is absent - she is out somewhere celebrating today. Good for her. My dad took the day off from work. My dad who didn't really like Obama.

Today is a GREAT day.

Happy FREEDOM day!
