Burps

January 2008 had me sick in the last few days of my trip to Argentina. Sick as in I couldn't keep ANYTHING down. I just threw it all up. Even just drinking some water to take medicine didn't give me peace. LUCKILY I was better by the time I had to get on the plane to come home. This was mostly thanks to a lemon tea my aunt made me (literally, boil lemons!).

But I've had a lasting effect from those horrible icky days.

Burps. Lots and lots of burps. I'll burp when I wake up before eating anything. I'll burp after drinking water. After standing up. After sitting down. After doing anything. I just keep burping! Over and over and over again. I don't drink soda, or anything with carbonations - so it doesn't come from that. I don't eat with my mouth open.

I tried Dr. Google to figure out what the issue is, but haven't found anything useful. I've found burping comes with acid reflux, but I don't have that. I don't feel heartburn, ever.

I mentioned it to my doctor back in July when I saw her, and she prescribed some heartburn medication... which I didn't take because I didn't see the connection. BUT I guess I'll start taking them now and see if they help any.

Usually it's annoying, but I can deal with it. But now? Since sometimes the burp is hard to get out, it makes me almost throw up. Which is not fun, since I've been doing enough of that already just because of the penicillin I took.

Oh, the other part? And you might not want to read this... but I seem to also be regurgitating digested food. It happens every now and then (every couple of days) and they are smaller than my fingernail. But they SMELL. That also started happening after my icky start to 2008.

Ah well. Hopefully it'll go away.
